Supportive Members

The supporter category is for individuals and organisations who share the vision of GEN, but are not ecovillages in themselves.

Also ecovillage initiatives (starting ecovillages, new applicants) are in this category. Supportive members do not have the right to vote at the General Assembly.

The annual membership fee is 25 Euro.

Full Members

GEN Europe full members are fully established ecovillages and national networks (incorporating at least two ecovillages with elected representatives). As a full member, you will have voting rights at the General Assembly and the benefits of membership are fully available to you. Full members must be approved by the GEN-Europe council. No applicant will be given full membership unless

1) they are well known to the Council

2) or they have participated in a General Assembly.

GEN Europe criteria for a fully established ecovillage:

should have a common purpose and vision
should have a community of people living together on the chosen site, with a membership structure and a decision-making process
should aim at the creation of a new culture with a balance in the ecological, social and spiritual /cultural aspects

The yearly membership fee for full members is 100 – 600 €, depending on the size of the ecovillage.
