GEN-South-East-Asia
Global Ecovillage Network South Asia (GENSA) was established in 1999 as the South Asian regional node of the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) International. Since its inception, GENSA has been striving towards learning, understanding and applying the core principles of GEN together with the Sarvodaya Sharamadana Movement of Sri Lanka. During a short period of time GENSA has succeeded in moulding the lessons learnt from the vast network of ecovillages around the globe to suit the regional context.
In the end of 2003 the node moved to a new office now located at Chiangmai in Thailand
Objectives of GENSA
To support the development of sustainable human settlements in the South Asian region.
To facilitate information exchange and cooperation among ecovillages in the South Asian region and worldwide.
To disseminate information about ecovillage concepts, practices and develop demonstration sites.
To develop partnership and cooperation with other organizations.
