Ecovillage Network of the Americas (ENA)

The mission of the Ecovillage Network of the Americas (ENA), is to engage the peoples of the Americas in common effort to join the global transformation towards an ecologically, economically, and culturally sustainable future.

ENA serves as the Western Hemisphere representative of the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN), and has a 19 seat Council, operating by consensus decision-making. On this Council of the Americas, delegates representing Americas 9 regions: Canada, Eastern U.S., Western U.S., Mesoamérica, Caribbean, Brazil, Northern South America, Southern South America and Mobile Ecovillages, work together as a unified and unifying force in the ecovillage and sustainability movements.

ENA publishes news in three forms: a biannual electronic newsletter (in English, Spanish, Portuguese), a biannual newspaper, Ecovillages, with all articles in four languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese and French), and biannual news releases on our comprehensive Internet site.

Ecovillage Contact Offices are being established throughout ENA's nine regions to serve as locally based outreach centres connecting individuals, communities, government and organizations in taking action to reverse trends of unsustainability.

ENA supports the development and implementation of innovative courses of instruction: workshops, apprenticeships and community-based immersion trainings in a broad range of topics, (such as Natural Building, Appropriate Technologies, Consensus Decision-making, Permaculture and Organic Food Productions, Preventive Healthcare, Land Use Design and others), and is working with faculty at universities to enhance course curricula. ENA offers two Living and Learning Centres in the Americas: The Ecovillage Training Centre at The Farm in Tennessee, U.S.A. The Living & Learning Centre in Pirenopolis, Brazil
