Dear members and friends of GEN-Europe,
You are cordially invited to the next GEN-Europe’s General Assembly (GA) at the Sieben Linden ecovillage in Germany (see more on their website www.oekodorf7linden.de).

Major questions/issues are:

• Changes within the staff team and council
• Election of new council members (at least two members are going to resign their seats in summer 2008)

Before the GA the interested persons can come for attending the Experience week and the Deep Ecology Workshop organized by the host Sieben Linden Ecovillage.
International experience week (29.06.08- 04.07.08)
This week is especially designed for international guests. We will work together with 7 Linden inhabitants on the place, in the garden, strawbale buildings and what ever is to be done. There will be a lot of space for information about Sieben Linden and for answers to your questions. We will also have time to get to know each other and create a glimpse of community.
Costs: euros 80, with your own tent
The costs for the days in between Friday and the start of GA are the same as for the GA - but Elke can check if they need people to help building up the infrastructure and if they can make special price for these days.
One-day workshop on “Deep Ecology” with Gabi Bott
Acting from the Heart
Discovering the Deep Ecology within us
An Introduction in Deep Ecology Methods by Gabi Bott
The problems we are facing in our world today can not be solved with the same thinking- and behaviour- patterns out of which they arose.
Deep ecology is as old as human life on earth. Whenever human beings interact with their environment in a holistic way, deep ecology is alive.
The Norwegian philosopher and environmental activist Arne Naess coined the term „deep ecology" in the early 1970s. He invited us to look deeper and beyond the superficial answers at social and ecological issues of our time. From a deep ecology point of view the planet is a living system Lovelock named it GAIA after the Greek Earth-godess in which everything is connected or interrelated.
The problems we are facing often appear with an individual aspect but are truly collective.
For this day Gabi wants to invite you to create a space for new experience through sharing, exercises of perception and rituals. Since we all live in this time of crises, we are all experts. Let's use the time to discover new walks in the web of life.
Gabi Bott: studied landscaping and worked for environmental issues and the Green Party in Germany. She did an intensive training in Deep Ecology with the „Gesellschaft für Tiefenökologie“ in Germany and with Joanna Macy in USA; since 2001 she has been living in the community „Ökodorf 7 Linden“ and works with the deep ecology method in her workshops and as a trainer in long term groups.
The fee for participation in the workshop 30, €.
